Lynx run over on the A-4 in Marmolejo (Jaén)
2018-03-15
This morning, March 15th, specialists assigned to the project Life+Iberlince were notified of the corpse of an Iberian lynx cub found at kilometre 342.5 of the A-4 within the Marmolejo municipality (Jaén).
The state in which the body was found didn’t allow for the identification of either the individual or its sex, and it was transferred to Wildlife Analysis and Diagnosis Centre (CAD) of the Regional Government of Andalusia where a complete post-mortem examination will be performed.
Iberlince would like to emphasize the importance of notifying 112 once a dead Iberian lynx is found in order to quickly activate the body removal protocol, which is essential to obtain as much information as possible on the cause of death.
