Iberlince presents the documentary series 'De Humanos y Linces' (Of Humans and Lynxes), a project recounted by its protagonists
2018-11-29
Today, during the National Environment Congress (CONAMA), the Life Iberlince project 'Recovery of the historical distribution of the Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus) in Spain and Portugal' (2011-2018) presents a documentary series in which it shows the protagonists of the conservation project, now in its final stretch.
Under the title 'De Humanos y Linces' (Of Humans and Lynxes), Iberlince presents, by name and surname, some of the people who in some way or another contributed to the species’ recovery, and work to bring the project's actions to their successful conclusion. In short, it’s intended to showcase the project but as recounted by its protagonists.
From Iberlince project director, Miguel Ángel Simón, to José María Finat, owner of the El Castañar estate, in Mazarambroz, where the first release of Iberian lynx took place in Montes de Toledo - in November 2014 -, also including the testimonies of Diego García Márquez, gamekeeper of the Sport Hunting Society Preserve of Aznalcázar (Seville); the journalist José María Montero, director of the 'Espacio Protegido' and 'Tierra y Mar' television shows (Canal Sur Televisión); Matías Chaparro, caretaker of the El Acebuche captive breeding centre (Huelva); Gema Candelas, archaeologist and interpreter of the archaeological site of Cerro de las Cabezas (Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real); Marcos López, Technical Officer of the Ministry of Environment and Territory Planning of the Regional Government of Andalusia, or João Madeira, co-owner of agricultural and livestock farms in Vale de Silvas, in Mértola (Portugal). And so on up to ten chapters, each with different scenarios and different perspectives, but with a common link: the Iberian lynx.
The documentary series was produced by the Autonomous Authority for National Parks within the framework of the Iberlince project, and can be viewed in its entirety on the Life Iberlince project’ Youtube channel.
