The New York Times praises the Iberian lynx recovery program

The population has gone from 94 specimens in 2002 to 547 in 2017 thanks to breeding and consolidation efforts aimed at the species’ current settlements
The prestigious American newspaper, New York Times, praised the Life+Iberlince project (funded by the European Union) which seeks to recover the Iberian lynx by focusing on the breeding, conservation, reintroduction and consolidation of this protected species’ current settlements.
The program, which began after the 2002 census of these felines accounted for a mere 94 specimens distributed in villages of Doñana and Andujar, where the last populations were isolated, has managed to significantly increase the number of individuals in 2017, amounting to 547 specimens....
