15th HUNTING SEMINARS OF CASTILLA-LA MANCHA
2018-05-08
As in previous years, EFA ORETANA organises the 15th Hunting Seminars of Castilla-La Mancha, this time titled "Hunting Management in the Life+IberLince Project". The Seminars will be held at the "Alberto Sánchez" Cultural Hall in Cobisa (Toledo) on May 9th, 2018. The invitation to attend is extended to which every student, hunter, manager and hunting enthusiast who wants to learn about running a hunting estate in those where this great feline is introduced.
To this end, the main actors in the development of this distinguished species were invited, both from the owner-manager’s point of view, as well as that of the conservator-breeder, concerned with adaptation and acclimatisation in the new environment and its later development.
Until quite recently, the lynx was the world’s most endangered feline. It requires a natural habitat with a minimum number of rabbits to be able to effectively develop its activity, thus making it imperative to improve and develop the Mediterranean habitats and lagomorph populations, for which the hunting estates of Castilla-La Mancha are ideal due to their natural quality and ecological diversity.
Fomecam, through the Life+Iberlince Project, is in charge of establishing collaboration agreements with hunting estates, with the goal of improving natural areas and, ultimately, reintroducing these felines in the Castilla-La Mancha wilderness and subsequent acclimatisation.
EFA ORETANA is a Vocational Training Centre of the Agriculture Industry specialised in forestry, in agreement with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Castilla-La Mancha, where the "Natural Environment Exploitation and Conservation Specialist"; "Forest and Natural Environment Management"; "Landscaping and Rural Environment"; and Basic FP of "Forest Exploitation courses are taught.
