berlince seeks names for the three cubs of the wild 'Koshka' litter

The Life+Iberlince project 'Recovery of the historical distribution of the Iberian lynx in Spain and Portugal' (2011-2018) wants to count on citizen collaboration to choose names for the new Iberian lynx specimens born during the spring in different areas in Andalusia where the species is present.

This time, it’s to 'baptize' the three cubs of the 'Koshka' litter, detected by specialists a few weeks ago in the Guarrizas area (Jaén), and featured yesterday in a video the project shared on social media. These cubs’ names must begin with the letter P (which pertains to specimens born in the spring of 2018).

The Life Iberlince project will propose five names ('Pendulum', 'Piñón', 'Pincel', 'Picota' and 'Pecas'), of which citizens will vote for the best three (one for each cub of the 'Koshka' litter). The names with the most votes will be the chosen ones.

To choose the name, in addition to using the hashtag #BautizaUnLince (as in previous naming campaigns), participants should include the word #Lince and the name or names that they like the most; for example, #LincePecas or #LincePincel.

Those who wish to participate will be able to vote until June 5th, when the project will announce the names of the three 'Koshka' cubs in its Twitter and Facebook profiles. 'Koshka' is a female specimen reintroduced by Iberlince in the Guarrizas area in 2014.
