Iberlince seeks names for the two 'Lupa' cubs, born this breeding season in Doñana

Once again, the Life+Iberlince project 'Recovery of the historical distribution of the Iberian lynx in Spain and Portugal' (2011-2018) calls for the project’s social media followers’ collaboration to name the cubs born in the 2018 breeding season.

Whereas a few days ago the goal was to 'baptize' the 'Koshka' litter cubs, from the Guarrizas area (final name choice will be disclosed on June 5th), it's now time to do the same for 'Lupa'’s two cubs, spotted by project specialists in the Doñana area. Both Iberian lynx cubs are in good health, as shown in this video.

As on other occasions, the project will put forth four names ('Pelusa', 'Potosí', 'Platero' and 'Poleo'), on which participants will vote for the two that they like the most (one for each of the 'Lupa' cubs), and the two names with the most votes will be chosen. Having been born in 2018, the cubs’ names must begin with the letter P, the letter corresponding to those born this year.

To choose the name, in addition to using the hashtag #BautizaUnLince (as in previous naming campaigns), participants should include the word #Lince and the name or names that they like, for example, #LincePelusa or #LincePlatero.

Those who wish to participate will be able to vote until June 7th, when the project will announce the names of the two 'Lupa' cubs in its Twitter and Facebook profiles.
