Two Iberian lynx specimens corpses found

Friday morning, specialists from the Ministry of Environment and Territorial Planning attached to the Life+Iberlince program were notified regarding the corpse of an Iberian lynx specimen found next to the AVE tracks, near the Villafranca de Córdoba municipality (Córdoba).

It’s an unidentified specimen. The body was transferred to the Wildlife Analysis and Diagnosis Centre (CAD) of the Regional Government of Andalucía where a necropsy will be performed.

In addition, last Wednesday the specialists were notified of another Iberian lynx corpse. In this case, the specimen had been run over on the A-4, at kilometre 301, within the Guarromán municipality (Jaén). The body of the unidentified lynx female was transferred to CAD where a necropsy will be performed.
